The sea meets the sky. Two flat things holding each other steady, and one wave breaking the line between them. That balance is the shape of this chair. The lift, the hold, the calm in it.

Nagisvaj sits low, because low is where people actually sit. On the floor, back against the sofa, legs stretched out. A lot of us grew up that way. Somewhere along the line furniture stopped meeting us down there.

It comes flat in a box and goes together by hand. That matters in a small apartment, up too many stairs, when moving happens more often than anyone would like. The rounded legs let it be dragged across a room without scarring a floor or chewing up a rug.

And it doesn't have to stay inside. Pull it apart, carry it out, put it back together where the light is better. A patch of grass, a wooden deck. Same chair, just a different view.

Nagisvaj — inspired by the Tendo Mokko low chair. Three main components: a pair of hand-cut ash legs, a bent ply backrest, and a seat. Each curved leg is laminated from three solid ash sections, then cut and sanded to shape.
